Windy Hill Capital is an early stage seed fund investing in companies with unique technologies and compellingly disruptive business models.  Windy Hill Capital was founded in 2010 by Michael Banks, a senior technology executive with 20+ years experience as a venture capitalist and as an entrepreneur creating successful companies.


Michael's day job is being a partner at Grey Sky Venture Partners (GSVP).

Michael has been actively investing in leading communications, consumer, mobile, Internet, hardware and software companies since 1997.  Prior to founding Windy Hill Capital, Michael was a partner with DE Shaw Ventures leading their consumer and Internet investment practice.  Michael was also a partner with LA-based Palisades Ventures and Disney's Steamboat Ventures. Michael got his start in the venture business as a managing director with Intel Capital in 1997, leading investments for the Intel Architecture Labs and for the Media Investment Group. Prior to Intel, Michael worked in technology and finance and was a successful entrepreneur.



Michael's track record of success includes investments in Tapjoy, Experience Project/Kanjoya, Silverpop (acquired by IBM),, x-AD, Pure Digital Technologies (acquired by Cisco), Peregrine Semiconductor (IPO), PakNetX (acquired by Aspect), Megapath Networks (acquired by Netifice), Omneon Video Networks (acquired by Harmonic), Polaris Wireless, SOA Software, Visage Mobile, Language Weaver (acquired by SDL) and others.
